My current laptop is fairly adequate for FS9, (NEC VERSA E6510), but since its getting old, looking for a replacement that could run FSX ok, suggestions?
Thanks.
Jonathan

stay away from a apple, you will pay $500 more then you should, take that money and get you a stronger pc. FSX uses the cpu more so look for something with an I7 in it. 12 gigs of memory minimal. Asus has been putting out good laptops lately and there is always dell.

If you can, get a desktop and build it yourself. A desktop is far better suited for gaming and building it yourself will be cheaper.

Thanks for coming back everyone, the thing is I am going to be in college in the next year or so
A desktop would be little short on the much needed mobility.. but yeah I will look into Asus, I heard the Taiwanese are pretty good.

You could always use your current laptop for the mobility and build a micro ATX desktop for the dorm.

Here's a list of something I've been working on for family: https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=19535532
She wanted something that wouldn't take up too much space, and if you add a graphics card and upgrade the RAM, you'll have a decent machine.

After going to the store to have a look at different models, the Dell VOSTRO 3750 seems like an affordable and competent machine, any comments?

I would never go with DELL or HP. They put custom cheapest components ever combined with overpriced upgrade/replacement.
I'm a little biased because have DELL laptop for work
