I am new here at DVA and I have only flew one flight so far. I am rated first officer in the 767 stage 3. My question is am I restricted to only flying routes that the 767 flies. For example a flight from atlanta to los angeles is flown by the 767 so what if i dont wont to fly that long and yet take a trip from atlanta to tampa in the 767? I guess in lamen terms am i restricted to the long haul routes for the 767? Another quick question, I have seen a few pics on the water cooler threads of american airline flights. Are we allowed to fly with the American livery? Exactly what liveries can I fly? I know these are very simple questions, but just wanted to clear things up on my end so I can get the most out of my virtual flying here at DVA. Thanks for the help.

First off, welcome to DVA! To answer your question, you can fly any route in any plane you are qualified to fly. As long as the aircraft can safetly reach that destination.

Example: you couldn't fly an EMB-120 from Atlanta to London.

I saw on one post in the cooler where someone stated there are over 50 codeshare partners for the virtual airline? Where can I obtain a list of these partners?

Welcome aboard! As has been stated, you can fly any flight you want so long as your plane can safely make the flight. Being in the 767, you pretty much have the entire schedule open to you. From flights as short as an hour or less right on up to 14+ hour flights. Enjoy your time here and we'll see you in the skies!

Adding to that, you have to have legal reserves. You can't land with 100 pounds of fuel in a 767.

Yes. Livery does not matter. However, if you're flying online, make sure to put a note in your flightplan that you're in __________ colors. For instance, DAL1038 in Qantas colors. This way controllers know what to tell other aircraft to look for on the ground. Especially if they are instructing another aircraft to follow you out during taxi.

Hahaha it reminds me when I started simming back in 2005! No planning, no SID/STARS, no nothing - I just used to take the plane, fill the tanks to the brim and hit the runway... man, did I learn about aviation since then! biggrin

That sounds familiar.. in my house, prior to joining DVA, executive jets could fly Chicago to Keflavík. Fuel was exhausted half way there but divine intervention ensured we reached the airport before falling out of the sky.
