So I recently took the QW146 for a spin on a flight which is still being reviewed as of posting time. The pictures explain everything.
The review?
Well, lets start it off that 2012 has been a new year for payware, P3D compatibility, PMDG releasing new products, and CLS and QW competing to release a BAe 146 payware.
I really wanted a nice, high quality payware for my stage, because all my other paywares are high up, (can't wait for the stage 2 transfer, PMDG 737!!!) so I decided to try the QualityWings BAe because I liked the 757 and CLS was making an F-Lite one.
Installation and registry was simple, had it up and running in 20 minutes.
I used routefinder to plan my flight, loaded it up in FSX, but it didn't appear in the FMC!
The QW146 FMC is quite different from the 757, you can only load QualityWings .rte files, which are a new format (PMDG and Level-D .rte's didn't work, and upon analyzing the default 146 flight plan vs the 2, they all are different) so I had to reprogram the bird manually!
Luckily this flight had only a few waypoints, so I entered them, programmed altitude, and took of!
The couple of things I noticed is that in flight, the ALT HOLD switch is pretty buggy, and that autopilot is apparently non-existant.
The plane flies itself fine with the FMC, I even ate breakfast and came back!
Upon landing, I deployed my spoilers, which on the 146 happen to open the back of the plane a bit, and upon touchdown the spoilers on the wing
Overall, I am highly satisfied with the Quality Wings 146!
