I'm having a problem with Microsoft windows DEP auto shutting down my FSX mid flight. Does anyone know how to remedy this annoying PC behavior? i've tried searching for the EXE file but the system does not find anything valid in the FSX folder to shutoff the DEP. This seems to happen to matter the display settings.

Right click on the shortcut and select "Run as Administrator"

Also, I have my FSX installed in C:\FSX " not C:\Program Files (x86)\FSX ... FSX, addons, ACARS, etc all play nicer that way.

Ok. I was running as admin. I reinstalled the service packs and I'm hoping that fixes it. I'm flying right now and wondering if the flight will last to DCA without crashing the program on final approach-lol

On my next rig or rebuild, whichever comes first, I'm doing as Michael states above. I think it will remove some of the installation/operational headaches.
