Well, I do not assume much explaining will be needed. As many knows the wilco comes with an aircraft.cfg bug that makes the plane beeing overweight even if you load next to nothing.
Lately my pireps have been holded, even though I wrote this information in the remarks. And as Paul Hale said in my last holded Pirep, it is time to change this.
I know there was a thread once about this, but I could not find it and I have been informed that it no longer exist.
Anyone knows the fix?

I always fly 330/340/346 Wilcos and never has this overweight issue; even I do the fuel planning with Acars, it is working fine. You need to be more specific what is the "issue" is as Acars will warn you if you're overweight on the take off and you need to do accurate fuel and load planning.

How much fuel are you loading into your aircraft? The more fuel you load into your aircraft, the less payload you can carry. It could be an issue with fuel amounts.

Zach i hope you don't mind me publishing one of your pireps on the open forums but this may help the others to see exactly what the issue is. As i said this is a strange one as your fuel loading is in no way excessive and you are not overweight on takeoff, just landing. Any help for Zach here would be most appreciated guys.

I remember back when I flew for AFVA the then Chief Pilot had a fix for it, but he does. I longer have it and there used to be a water cooler thread about it, but I think it got lost.
Maybe one of the A330 CP/ACPs at either AFVA or DVA could have a look into this matter.

I always thought it was just the payload which causes overweight flags. Nothing wrong with the .cfg. Here's my observations on your pirep, Zach:
You departed gate with a Gross Weight of 522,354 lbs. 32,180 lbs fuel onboard. This translates to a Zero Fuel Weight of 490,174 lbs. The Maximum Zero Fuel Weight of A340-300 is 403,300 lbs. You carried 86,874 lbs of extra payload. Now Zach, you can't load that much on a A340. Since, our ACARS doesnt compare Actual ZFW to Max ZFW, you are never aware and you didn't bother to check. A343's MAx. Takeoff Weight is 610,000 lbs. So you could takeoff without an overweight flag. But when you landed, your weight was 505,489 lbs. The maximum landing weight is 419,000 lbs. You were some 85,000 lbs overweight. This wouldnt have happened if you had measured and checked while loading payload. So its not a .cfg error.

When ever I fly the Wilco A340, and A330 as a matter of fact, I just fly with no payload what so ever. Never been over weight.
Best thing about no payload is, the Passengers don't moan about my flying, and the Cargo handlers don't moan about damaged Cargo. So its a win win situation.

And Cyriac. I am sorry if my pirep offended you. I would wish to direct your attention to a flight I did at the Toronto Real ops, where I constantly loaded smaller and smaller amounts of EVERYTHING (that includes no payload almost) and absolutely minimum of acars fuel. It still said I was overweight. So Cyriac, saying I am never aware and does not bother is not something I receive with open arms.

I am going to dig deeper on this but need a clarification on the flight for Toronto Real Ops. I do not get where you are overweight before take off, which acars should have warn you, and claim you've loaded smaller amounts. As Cyriac said, MLW is 419000Lbs and it seems your fuel and passanger+cargo weight always exceed normal parameters. Airbus Department will not get offended, we encourage pilots to give us feedback on their flight so if there is something that needs to be fix, we will fix it. If you're still getting overweight issues, please email me .cfg file so I can take a look at it.

I think I was not overweight since I had so little cargo, that it probably wasn't overweight. The Toronto flight was a mess, so I might have forgotten some details.
Also, fuel is never very much (under 20k kg on the last three flights or around 20k). cargo is 99950 punds. So lets say a100k plus 40k from fuel. that equals 140k punds. + the emptyweight which according to my FSX is 390220 punds but according to wikipedia is 287,000 lb. That all equals to 530220 punds or 427000 lb. Also, according to Wikipedia, the A343 has a maximum takeoff weight of 610,000 lb. Could anyone specify all this for me?
And if something is wrong with the .cfg I doubt the Acars would show, since it would probably show what the .cfg is showing.

I checked your Toronto RealOps pirep, Zach. You exceeded the maximum Zero Fuel Weight by 26,953 lbs. That translates to 143,000 lbs payload. Way too much fuel too. If we check your .cfg file, maybe we will know what's wrong. I'm not sure how acars reads weights. But if the .cfg would have had incorrect zero fuel weight, maybe that could be it. I too use wilco A340-300. The .cfg says ZFW as 286,150 lbs. You sure yours say 390,220?

Zach, do you primarily use lbs or kgs for your weights? I'm asking because if you primarily use kgs, there could be a problem there converting to lbs. Esp since the ZFW you're saying is almost exactly 100,000 lbs over the actual ZFW.

The only -cfg file I can find is prefs. And that contains nothing regarding weight.
You're probably going to have to tell MS to show hidden files and you're going to have to open it as Administrator. Otherwise MS won't let you edit it.

Are you using fsx or fs9?
If fsx it should be under sim objects then aircrafts
If fs9 I believe it should be under just aircrafts
